AUBURN, Ala.- Trash collection will continue on its regular schedule following the recent storm. Residents should place bulk trash and storm-related yard debris at the curb on their regularly scheduled garbage and recycling collection day.
Severe weather can leave behind fallen limbs, leaves and other debris. To help collection crews work safely and efficiently, residents are asked to follow these guidelines when preparing items for collection:
- No household garbage. Bulk trash and yard debris collection is for yard waste, appliances and other bulky items. Household garbage should not be included in these piles.
- Keep debris in one pile. Place items in a single pile at the curb, at least three feet away from mailboxes or other fixed objects.
- Get your items out early. All items should be placed at the curb no later than 6 a.m. on your scheduled collection day.
- Secure loose materials. Bundle or bag debris as appropriate to prevent it from blowing into the street or surrounding areas.
- Prepare limbs and branches. Break down limbs and other debris into pieces shorter than five feet.
The City appreciates your patience and cooperation as crews continue cleanup efforts following the storm. Following these guidelines will help us collect debris safely and efficiently while keeping neighborhoods clean.
